Material goods

Thanks to Google Reader and friends, I stumble across interesting things I want to check out (or eventually purchase) all the time. Here are a few things I've been eyeing lately.

I discovered the original German version of this book on exhibit at MoMA, and just remembered to look for it last night. I immediately checked Amazon to see if it was translated into English, and I lucked out; The New Typography was first translated into English in 1995. Apparently it's still a definitive volume on typeface and graphic design.

These flats are on my list of spring "to purchase" items. Shoes and furniture are items I'm willing to spend out on because quality really matters. These lovely Kate Spade flats combine my love for neutrals and my love for brightly colored accents into one shoe.

Another pair of Kate Spade shoes. I might cave and buy these as soon as they go on sale. Italian-made patent leather in seafoam green? Heavenly. I tried these on at the flagship shop in SoHo and fell in love. No doubt, these will eventually have a spot in my closet.

Inverting the Pyramid is an iconic text—if you can call something published only a year ago such—in the soccer-loving community. Though I've been distracted by college football and basketball in the last few months, I can't get away from my admiration and interest in soccer. I'm waiting on this book to arrive; it has been backordered on major retailer Web sites for a while now, but I'm hoping to dive into this one sooner rather than later. I'm eager for my copy to arrive at my door!
